1) Can I buy Cheyanne Symone products if I am not Native or Indigenous?

Yes! Anyone of any background is welcome to purchase our jewelry. The real issue is when non-native companies co-opt native symbols and traditions for profit. When you buy from Cheyanne Symone, you are supporting a small, Indigenous-woman owned business. You are celebrating and showcasing cultural traditions, and directly supporting a Native artist. We welcome your business, regardless of where you are from!

2) Who makes Cheyanne Symone jewelry?

Our jewelry is designed and handcrafted by Indigenous Artisans. We currently have eight beaders creating pieces for Cheyanne Symone, including the company’s Founder and Owner, Brittany C. Turner (Haliwa-Saponi).

3) Where are the earrings made? Where do source materials come from?

All products are handmade in the United States, in the homes or studios of the Artisans who create them. We source the majority of our glass seed beads from a Japanese brand, Miyuki. Learn more about their bead making process HERE. We strive to buy from American businesses and local artists whenever possible and are committed to transparency in our process. 4) I have sensitive ears, what options are available for earring posts, wires, and backs?

Our stud earrings use cruelty-free ultra suede, as well as high-quality 925 recycled sterling silver posts and push backs. We also offer surgical steel posts and push backs on several of our stud earring designs as an alternative for those with silver allergies or sensitivities. Our dangle earrings use 14K gold wires or sterling silver wires, depending on the design.Select designs can also be made as clip-on earrings. If you have specific needs related to the materials used in the earring posts or backings, please email communications@cheyannesymone.com. 

5) How are prices determined for products?

The biggest factors affecting prices are labor and materials:

Labor

Cheyanne Symone earrings are handmade and time intensive to create. We use a bead embroidery technique where each bead is applied one by one. This process can take anywhere from two to eight hours per pair. As a result, the majority of the price of the piece goes toward the beader's labor. We compensate our beaders with an ethical and fair wage.

Materials

Material costs vary. Items that come from another artist (such as our Birch Bark Centers) or precious and semi-precious gemstones and pearls are more expensive than standard glass beads. The size of the piece also contributes to the material costs. Additionally, we use sustainable shipping materials that are recyclable, reusable and biodegradable; algae ink on our printed materials; high-quality surgical steel and recycled sterling silver posts; reusable cloth jewelry bags for storage; extra large earring backs for more comfortable wear, and more.

6) What is your return policy?

You are entitled to return your item for a replacement or refund within 90 days of your purchase. Shipping and handling charges for original purchase are nonrefundable. Upon receipt of returned goods, Cheyanne Symone LLC reserves the right to deny a refund if the merchandise does not meet return policy requirements.

 7) Do you repair earrings?

Yes! In keeping with our commitment to the Seventh Generation Promise, the life cycle of our products does not end with your final purchase. We repair products hassle-free, anytime, guaranteed. Simply fill out our repair form to begin the process. Damage due to wear and tear will be repaired at a reasonable charge.

 8) Do you offer free shipping?

We always offer free standard shipping on orders placed within the U.S. Expedited shipping options are also available for a fee. International shipping costs vary based on country. Click here for more information on our shipping policies.

9) I lost one of my earrings, can I order a replacement?

Yes. Simply order a replacement, at half the price of a full-price pair, by completing our lost earring replacement form. Note: As long as we have the materials, we can make a replacement. Fulfillment of replacement orders may take longer for out-of-stock or retired designs.

10) Can I order a single earring of a Cheyanne Symone design?

Yes! Maybe you have a single piercing, or a non ear-lobe piercing, or you simply want to wear a single Cheyanne Symone earring for your look – whatever the reason, we are happy to fulfill orders for single earrings, at half the price of a full-price pair. Please complete our single earring request form. Note: Fulfillment of single earring orders may take longer for out-of-stock designs.
